Russia has developed a groundbreaking technology for automated spacecraft launches and robotic maintenance from orbital stations, a world first. This innovation will be tested on the upcoming Russian Orbital Station (ROS) and later utilized in lunar missions. Deployment of the ROS, envisioned as a robotic drone platform, is slated between 2027 and 2033, following the ISS deorbiting.
